Competition for students in the UK and Ireland

Cinericordi (see below) is launching a competition for students called “Come andavamo al cinema?”.Full details are contained in this document. There is a prize of £250 in Amazon vouchers plus publcation on the site. Could it be that it might inspire a project for sixth form students under the Expended Project Qualification too? Deadline 30th June.
Exchanges

Italian Teachers Day

The third Italian Teachers Day took place on Saturday 2nd March at Francis Holland School in London.  Many thanks to the fantastic speakers who made it a memorable and stimulating day. Materials from the event can be found here (and where possible linked to relevant topic areas elsewhere). Presentations from the previous event at North London Collegiate School in March 2018 can be found here. 

Both events were supported by SIS (The Society for Italian Studies) and ISMLA (Independent Schools Modern Languages Association).

Encourage your students to enter this amazing competition. A wonderful way to introduce them to Italian poetry. Deadline for entries 12th July 2019.

  • Check out www.cinericordi.it  an online archive of material related to post-war Italian culture, and cinema in particular. There are in particular 160 video interviews that could be used in part or as a whole for listening comprehension.
