Film suggestions

Is it to suggest for independent viewing to students, for an Italian film club, to supplement or complement work done in class? We all need suggestions. A while ago there was an email thread among teachers on the subject and lots of great ideas came out, some familiar, others less so. Here below you will find lists of films roughly categorised by topic (bearing in mind the A level themes as well). Further suggestions for use in school to [email protected].

Things to consider
  • Suitability for age groups
  • Whether they have English subtitles and whether to use them (most have Italian subtitles for the hard of hearing).
  • Whether to show full films or extracts. Study of short scenes can also be very effective especially on topics/themes.
